As the trip gets closer, feel free to contact me on this blog and I will be happy to provide you with a food itinerary for while you're here. Fuck Harvest on the Harbor.

JoeCaligulahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11751655861571894706noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3949270802334481269.post-73044701068090943622010-05-27T07:20:34.428-07:002010-05-27T07:20:34.428-07:00I know this post is old, but I'm intrigued. Based on your comments, I shouldn't bother. Guess I'll just stay in Boston, then? Or is there something worth going to in Portland?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3949270802334481269.post-88385078228060862772009-10-21T08:08:25.789-07:002009-10-21T08:08:25.789-07:00Oh yeah, it's great for tourists! But the whole event is a rip off and makes me mad. Especially the $35 'Gourmet Dining on a Budget' session. Hopefully, the savvier visitors will know better and seek out the true talent that got Portland in the press in the first place, not just the dues-paying CVB members who populate HOTH with conventional dishes and products.

It reminds me of the music biz back when the industry was foisting garbage on radio stations when the real music was in the dirty clubs down reeking side streets.johnnydhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04341601561693473352noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3949270802334481269.post-17371169748401685582009-10-21T06:47:10.902-07:002009-10-21T06:47:10.902-07:00Thanks Joe for saving me the trouble of haveing to...Thanks Joe for saving me the trouble of haveing to write this very same post.

Save me a bottle of Blackstone. If I hadn't gotten free tickets for teaching a cooking class, I probably wouldn't have gone, as all the featured products are available at independent food stores up and down the coast. The featured wines were all Maine, though, better than the swill they're serving at HOTH.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, I'm glad I decided to skip this one!Maryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17546256738190301358noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3949270802334481269.post-19614079572111172572009-10-20T21:07:31.133-07:002009-10-20T21:07:31.133-07:00ThankfuckingGod someone else is thinking this! I mean, they're charging you $35 to shop with local vendors that you can find at Rosemont, Portland Market House, Lois's, Whole Foods and various places around Portland.

Really?S.https://www.blogger.com/profile/15391451871882899226noreply@blogger.com
